Meet Your Psychiatrist

Welcome to my website! I was born and raised in Romania and together with my husband (also a physician), came to the United States to advance our professional studies and build a new life. My passion for psychiatry goes back to my first years in medical school when I developed an interest in philosophy, spirituality, and studied the works of Freud. Right then I envisioned a way of combining medicine, psychology, and spirituality, and knew I wanted to become a psychiatrist.

I completed my residency in psychiatry at the University of Chicago Hospitals in Chicago, IL followed by a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at Northwestern University in Chicago. For the next 20 years, I practiced psychiatry in a state psychiatric hospital, dedicating my service to those with the most severe and debilitating forms of mental illness and social, psychological, and spiritual deprivation.

When the field of psychiatry started exploding with new interventional tools such as TMS and ketamine assisted psychotherapy, I decided to create my own holistic, private practice. I am forever grateful to my family and my friends for supporting me in this adventure. The results that I have been witnessing in my clinic by employing these new treatment modalities have surpassed all my expectations. I never imagined it was possible to witness people not only move beyond symptom stabilization, but feel truly empowered to pursue their dream, and actually achieve them.. This is the most beautiful reward that motivates me to continue to develop my practice so that I can better serve others.

In my free time, I love reading spiritual books, attending church, traveling, and spending time with my beautiful family.
